October 26.

November 2.

If you look at yesterday's post, you'll see that Oct 29 looked pretty much like Oct 26, only foggy....
What a difference a few days make, eh? We hardly ever go from peak-of-color to ... gone ... in just a few days, especially when there are no intervening storms. It rained, and, ok, I guess it was a little windy, but nothing to write home about.....
And yet you see what happened. Sigh.
November 9.
Today they (finally!) came and took the leaves. Ann Arbor takes the leaves and composts them, and then sells the finished compost. They told us that they'd get the leaves last week, and we've had the minivan in the garage ever since, so she wasn't blocking that part of the street from the leaf collectors. This has been a minor annoyance; we're glad they finally took the leaves.

They pick up the leaves twice. This is the first time I can remember that essentially all the leaves were down for the first pickup. I'm sure that's why they were so late picking them up; it took way longer than usual because they were getting nearly all the leaves in one pickup.
