November 11, walking home

.

The crows are starting to gather in large numbers for the night.

They were flying over our building when I left work.

I (not very carefully) counted 87 in this image.  There were hundreds of them, all flying southeast.

Looking west on William.  The stoplights mark William's intersection with Main Street.

Upper-air stillness continued -- lots of contrails.

Walking west on Liberty, approaching the intersection with Ashley.

Just west of the intersection of Washington and Ashley.

  1. Beautiful pictures, Vicki! Love the colors and the contrails. Funny, we're seeing a fair number of crows now too. In a while, there will be hundreds of them roosting in the cottonwoods by the river... they're so loud you can't hear yourself think. :)

  2. Thanks! It's not that common for the contrails to stay in the sky so long......

Crows are definitely a part of nature I can best appreciate from a certain distance...... :-) They do may a racket, and underneath the trees in which they've chosen to spend the night? ICK..........

And let's not even begin to think about them robbing other birds' nests.......
