You totally captured the blustryness of the day, Vicki! :) So, what's the leaf in the "container?" And I LOVE the light reflecting off of the brick - how cool!
It was quite a day for wind and wind-driven clouds. It seemed that every time I glanced out the window, it was different. Light. Dark. Light. Dark. With different kinds of clouds every time.
I made that little pot, many moons ago when I was a ceramics student, with the intent of putting violets in it. It works for leaves, too. :-) That's a Bradford pear leaf. They hold their shape and color for months (years). Much more substantial than "regular leaves" -- and I'm not sure why they are able to hold the color.
I, too, was very happy to see the reflection on the brick! :-) The clouds were coming and going so fast that I saw the reflections, stood up with the camera and they were gone, waited a moment and they were back, then gone, then back......
"They" predicted there would be a lot of damage from two days of very strong wind. I did see a couple of branches around 4-5" that were down, and lots in the 1-2" inch and smaller sizes, but didn't see any whole trees or large branches down (or power lines, thank goodness!).
One of my colleagues at work went home (out in the country) to discover that downed power lines had caused a fire in the woods behind her home (which was already being dealt with by the Proper Authorities when she got there, thank goodness).
