February 10

.

Another cold night.

Closer crop of the previous.

The next one makes me think of cut glass.

The sun rises, on frost birds in the forest.

A closer look.

My better half spotted this.

Maybe this is where the frost birds go, when they are no longer on the window.....

(Sorry about the wobbling.  I couldn't get very close to the window, so this is zoomed quite a bit, which magnifies my every movement.....)

The same bunch of office icicles we've been watching.

  1. You have the prettiest frost! I suppose that's an upside of frigid weather. *smile*

  2. Oh Vicki. How absolutely beautiful. I am just loving these frost photos. The ones with the sun rising in the background are breathtaking. And your video... well, it was relaxing. Just what I needed. :)

  3. An upside to frigid weather -- and cracked windows........ :-)

I suppose it must be the house settling. Or something. We have panes here and there around the house that have one vertical crack....

This, of course, lets more moisture through......

I really really mean that we will replace the windows (but it will be such a pita that we've been dawdling.......).

Once we do, we won't get the frost anymore.

So I am consciously enjoying it now.

    :-)

    Thanks, Justina.

I love it, too, especially with the sun behind it.......

It has to be pretty cold to get the interesting frost. Below 20 (F). I don't know what the other criteria are -- sometimes it's interesting, and sometimes ... not.

Don't you think it's cool the way your focus on Looking spreads to other members of your family? I don't know if I'd have noticed the swirling sparkles, if my better half hadn't........

I'll tell him you enjoyed it. :-)
