January 30, the rest of the day

The 30th was a beautiful sunshiny day.

It was colder than we'd hoped.  Windier.

In the late afternoon, we went to the grocery.

It was still fairly windy at ground level, but it must have been still, aloft, as the jet trails stayed in the sky for a long time.

As we walked from the car toward the store, we could see the sky from horizon to horizon.  One jet was finishing tracing a line which was visible across the whole sky.  I don't think I've ever seen that, before......
