Love this on the broader significance of commas.....  There is color there, as well as humor.

Plenty of color here! I do not carry a purse, but I covet one of those woven handbags.  I would seriously buy a square of that sort of weaving, and frame it.  The color............. Also love the look at what is available for sale in a non-USA store. When I was in France, checking out the merch in various stores was one of my favorite pastimes....... What do they have that we have, what do they not have that we have, what do they have that we don't have......  How else would we have found rhubarb applesauce?  We ate it almost every day, after we found it, and I really wish we could get it here!
