April 27

.

Clouds, on the 27th.

More green each day.

Heather, with bee.

There were more bees here, on Saturday (a nicer, sunnier, day), but there were a lot even late-ish on a cloudy day.  This is a big bumble.  There were smaller bees, too, but I didn't see any honey bees.

Fritillaria.

I can't quite take in that there are checkerboard flowers.

Cherry.

I'm not sure what this is.  It's in a neighbor's hedge.  This is the only one of these in the hedge.  It looks like a member of the rose family, but..............

It is a good lesson in looking your pics over to find the good bits.  The above -- nothing special.  But look what happens when we crop out just that top-left section of in-focus bloom.

I like this much better.

Another close crop of a larger image.

And another.

These species tulips were here when we bought the house in 1985, and they are still happliy yellow 26 years later.

The myrtle was here when we bought the house, too.

  3. So gorgeous flowers!
Love principally Fritillaria, an amazing flower that I've never seen one before.

Thanks for your nice comments on my blog.
