chutes 'n' ladders in the 'hood
.
While walking, we spotted this elaborate driveway-chalking from across the street.
I think someone has turned their driveway into Chutes and Ladders game, big enough so the kids can be the markers. :-)

from way back before lockdown

Many moons ago, some time before lockdown, I went downtown and had lunch with a friend.
These wreaths are painted on the doors into the restaurant.
Love the way the paint is translucent, so the layering is significant. We can see the edges of the leaves through each other, and through the green balls (which may be olives? this is a middle eastern restaurant).
They were having "put the work of school-age art students in shop windows" at the time I was downtown. I love the fish, and I admire the paper collage portraits, especially the one on the right.

A somewhat messy but delicious piece of rustic apple pie from Zingerman's Bakehouse. Mmmmmmmmmm.....
The pink color comes from the Paula Red apples they use, which are not peeled.

December 26. Sunrise shortly after the solstice.
Still picking up trash when I walk. If anything is going to make it from Michigan to the ocean, it's styrofoam. I picked up more pieces of styrofoam on Dec. 26 than ever before, I think. It seems like something large, made of styrofoam, had been hit by a car (??) and made into MANY smaller bits.
Sigh. And ARGH.

Excellent clouds on Dec. 18, 2018. We thought this one was like looking up at the bottom of a mushroom. Or a jellyfish.

Little round clump of moss on a wall. This is the original shot, so you can get an idea of the scale.

Cropped again. I think these are fruiting bodies, or whatever you call it for moss (different from other sorts of plants? Do mosses have true flowers? I can't remember but I kind of think not....).

On December 12 I went downtown (and thence to campus) to get a regular eye checkup. I had some time before I needed to get to Health Service.

After eye appointment Eyes ok. Yay.

Rackham. Home of some graduate school offices, and a really nice auditorium.
