"We are tied together in the single garment of destiny, caught in an inescapable network of mutuality. And whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

"If I were to remain silent, I'd be guilty of complicity." -- Albert Einstein

This pic was taken on May 11.  This is the first honeybee I saw in 2017.  Glad to see her, but I miss all of her sisters and cousins............

tulips

.

"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." -- Charles Dickens

These are the same tulips we saw with their shadow (and with my shadow).  It was cool enough when they were standing here that they lasted and lasted.

Wow.  Right?  I did not do anything to enhance this color.  Its just as the phone remembers it.

Tulips and their shadows.  And me.  I like that it's just possible to make out my finger on the phone.

early morning light

.

"Radical simply means 'grasping things at the root.' " -- Angela Davis

Early morning light reflected off a red care, through metal miniblinds, on the wall inside the house.

Same light, no car, coming in through leaves onto the oak floor.

April 30

.

"The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him."  --Niccolo Machiavelli

On April 30 I went to a surprise birthday party for a long-time friend.  It was a fun afternoon.  I met a lot of her friends and family that I have heard about over the years, and enjoyed chatting with them.

Shadows on the table.....

It was a rainy day.  When I got home, we walked.  The 30th was another "flowers EVERYWHERE" kind of day.

Crab apple.  The ones, like this one, with the dark buds opening to pink and white, are my favorites.

Lilac.

Another crab apple.

Dogwood.

Tulips in the 'hood.  Note the ones in the top left corner.....

Oooh.  Cherries.  I don't usually walk on this street, but I saw these trees from the bottom of the hill....

Fence around the trunk of a cherry tree, with tulips.

Dogwood.

Another dogwood.

Viburnum.

Lilac.

Fuzzy baby locust leaves.

Redbud.

The only thing I've shown in this post that's in my yard -- species tulip planted several years ago.

April 22 -- Earth Day

"If your vote didn't matter, no one would invest in trying to restrict it." -- @womensmarch on Instagram.

Walking downtown.  Fern.

Tulips.

Marching for science.

If I had gotten it together to make a sign, it would have looked like the one on the left.

Only A LOT of us, working together, can prevent fascist liars from destroying life as we know it......

Walking home.  Tulips on Main Street.

Crab apple.

Excellent sky over crab apple in West Park.

Grandmother oaks, and dandelions.  How can it be that so many people are intent on trashing the only home we have?

😳

Looking down into a tulip.
