sunrise

.

Sunrise.

Just a bit later, through the window in our front door.

The light coming in through the front-door window, landing on a partially-closed interior door.

sunrise

.

Sunrise through the circular window in our front door.

A bit later, on the same day as above.  The screen (screen door) is much more visible in this one, but I kind of like the effect....

our first glimpse of the sun in days

.

This was our first glimpse of the sun for days and days.

Unfortunately, it clouded right back over, for yet another gray day.

winter sunrise

.

I like the way the tire tracks reflect the light.

Always nice to see the sun in the depth of winter.

March 20. 2019

Sunrise, equinox. The sun was as red as I’d ever seen it.

March 16, 2019

.

Well, the ability to store a million pics (that is hyperbole) on my phone has caught up with me.

The next pics I should show you, after the last ones I *did* show you, are frost on the window, and I just couldn't bear to go back and edit them.  Maybe I'll go back to mid January and catch up.  Some day.  Or maybe I won't.

In lieu of showing nothing, I'm jumping ahead to yesterday.

8:17 am.  Approaching the equinox.

9:15 am.  I have video.  Blogger is declining to let me upload any video.  It was seriously snowing and blowing........

9:37 am.

December 30, 2018

.

Sunrise, just after the solstice.  Dec. 30, 2018.

Shifting the (phone) camera just a bit to the left of the above.  This is looking basically straight east.

How long has it been since you've seen one of these?

Shortly after sunset.

December 26, 2018

.

December 26.  Sunrise shortly after the solstice.

Still picking up trash when I walk.  If anything is going to make it from Michigan to the ocean, it's styrofoam.  I picked up more pieces of styrofoam on Dec. 26 than ever before, I think.  It seems like something large, made of styrofoam, had been hit by a car (??) and made into MANY smaller bits.

Sigh.  And ARGH.

December 9, 2018

.

December 9 was the coldest day of this season, so far (as I write on 12/30/18).

Frost on the windows.

About as far south as the sunrise gets, in these parts.

Beautiful and delicious apple from the farmers' market.  Shop local.  Eat local.
