July 15

.

Harsh sunlight is not as easy as more diffuse light......

I liked the way the yellow centers of these backlit daylilies glowed.

I liked various parts of the image above.  Upper right corner.

The flowers I meant to be looking at, as I took the pic.

That yellow glow.....

This is from another image, but is the same flower as in the upper right of the image the details above are from.  I like that we can see all the naughty bits here, all lit up by the sun.

One last look at these daylilies, before we walk on.

Coneflower.

Just-beginning coneflower.

Same as above, from a different angle.

Black-eyed Susan.

I wanted a closer look at those sticky-out things at the bottom left, above.  Maybe you did, too?  It's not a very interesting image, I'm afraid, but here it is.

Incipient Susan.

This one makes a more interesting closeup.

Yellow daylily.

That same big orange one we've been enjoying.

Different coneflowers, with bee.

Grass, and its shadows.

Closeup.

This daylily was blazing in the sunlight, against shadowy grass.  The contrast between the background and the light coming through the flower was so great that much of the flower is "blown out" -- no information was saved by the camera (other than "TOO MUCH LIGHT!").

I can't decide if I actually like this or not.  It's certainly very dramatic.

This one appeals to me more.  Much easier to take pics in the shade.............

Zinnia.
