5,000,000-yr-old big cat

The oldest big-cat skull found so far was recently discovered in Tibet.

Magnetostratigraphy determined it is between 4.1 and 5.95 million years old.  The previous "oldest big-cat evidence" is 3.6 million years old. 

(There are so many new-to-me and cool ways of dating things!)

This is so much newer than dinos.....  Wikipedia defines Paleontology as "the study of prehistoric life."  Three million years is certainly prehistoric!  Wikipedia goes on to say "Paleontology lies on the border between biology and geology." 

"Is the overlap" is more accurate, I bet..............
