How does anyone ever stay bored?
None of these exotic volunteer opportunities are ringing my chimes at the moment, but they are a taste of the variety of things one can do..........
I just finished my Hadrian's Wall class yesterday. It was thoughtfully constructed and well taught. They made excellent use of aerial video. So cool, to see the instructor walking through one of the ruined Roman structures -- from ground level AND from the air...... And to have the bird's-eye view moving over the landscape....
I loved that so much of the class was taught where the structures (and smaller items, like jewelry) were right there and touchable. I was a history of art minor. I have seen A LOT of slides of art and architecture. How much cooler when so much of the class is presented as video shot in the presence of the objects of study............ !!!
Anyway -- to get back to my main thought for this post -- there are volunteer opportunities all along Hadrian's Wall. They did warn us that volunteering there is very popular and needs to be booked well in advance.
So much to do, so little time................
