Happy Thanksgiving
.
The tulip tree leaves have been especially orange this year. It's this baked-pumpkin-pie orange that is my favorite color..........
Wishing each of you a Happy Thanksgiving.
May we all spend more time being glad for what we have, and less time wishing we had something else.

pics from late October
.
This pic was taken October 26.
I picked up this leaf, and taped it to the fridge, on October 27.

Happy Birthday, bro!
Enjoying a sunny day, after some rainy ones.
I don't know what this is. The rest are from a variety of maples.

Excellent clouds on Dec. 18, 2018. We thought this one was like looking up at the bottom of a mushroom. Or a jellyfish.
Broader view, same clouds on right.
Moss on top of a wall.
Little round clump of moss on a wall. This is the original shot, so you can get an idea of the scale.
Cropped.
Cropped again. I think these are fruiting bodies, or whatever you call it for moss (different from other sorts of plants? Do mosses have true flowers? I can't remember but I kind of think not....).
More moss, different wall.
More clouds, with jet trails.
The neighborhood rock-painter was still at work, in mid-December.
Fairy Lane assemblage.
Dwarf knight, with bunnies. And a giraffe and a gnome.
Maple leaf.
Sunset.

A brand-new tub of my moisturizer of choice, in the sunlight.
Rock wall with tiny plants, and even tinier plants.
Blue sky!
Piece of heavy paper in the road. It had been run over many times, sometimes when it was wet, and was thoroughly mashed into the texture of the road.
I peeled it loose from the road, and started taking pics.
Closeup. It's possible to see how it was squished, as well as how the high places in the road left holes in the paper.
Blue sky and jet trails.
Neighborhood rock-painter adding to the selection.
There is still a bit of yellow in the landscape.

Lovely lettuce at the farmers' market.
Kale bouquets.
Brussels sprouts and squashes.
Three kinds of beans, pumpkin seeds, garlic, sweet potatoes, squash.
Japanese maple.

7:08 am.
8:00 am.
I got dropped downtown to do some business with the post office. I had to mail tax returns for the NGO I work with, and I needed stamps and postcards for more get-out-the-vote activities.
Walking home. Snow on asters. I saw several snowy chrysanthemums which were much sadder than this aster.
Snowy, but not dead yet.............
Crab apples in West Park.
Closer. Robin feast!
There are a bunch of big crab apple trees in the park.
Snowy ravine between our neighborhood and Huron street.
Japanese maple.
Tulip tree. Love this orangey brown.
Closer crop of the above.
Yay, we're back to blue flowers. I would certainly rather have blue flowers on my get-out-the-vote postcards than red ones!
