magnolia, and sunset
.
These pics were taken in early May and I'm only getting around to sharing them now.
Sunset, on May 2, 2020.
I took the previous pic, then walked through the house and looked out to the east. Look how the sunset light is in the tops of the trees across the street. I don't think I'd ever seen the trees looking like this before.

creeping phlox
.
Creeping phlox above a stone wall (keeping these people's front yard from falling on the sidewalk).
A closer look at the forget-me-not in the lower right corner of the above.
Same yard, more phlox with an interesting rock.

Tulips
.
Tulips.
That's one of the biggest tulip flowers I've ever seen!
This one is the tallest one in the first image, from a different angle.

cherry blossom
.
I couldn't get a good angle for the cherry blossoms on the trees. There was too much mess in the background. Luckily it was a windy day, and this perfect bloom was on the grass.....

flowering trees
.
Bradford pear, and pink dogwood.
All the pink dogwoods in the neighborhood are this color, instead of their usual more pinkish pink. No idea what's up with that.

we had blue skies on May 1

Blue skies, and interesting clouds, on May 1.
And the moon. See it in the upper right quadrant?
A closer crop.

"If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers." -- Thomas Pynchon
This was taken on April 23.
This was taken on May 1. Eight days later. From flowers, only, on the maple tree in the back yard, to leaves, only. In just eight days.
Dogwood.
Quince petals.

I think I may have accidentally published this one before its time. If so, I apologize for the confusion.....
So many greens................ (Overbrightened by Google/Blogger, sigh!)
Dandelion.
Late afternoon clouds.

April 26
.
Running errands on a bright blue day with blobby clouds.
Later in the day. The sun was lighting up the chartreuse maple flowers in our yard, and the red maple flowers in a neighbor's yard. I don't know what setting the camera was on, but this isn't what I meant to capture........
I kind of like it, though.
Revising the setting. It was windy enough that capturing flowers and incipient leaves using a zoom (through windows) was non-trivial. And of course the clouds kept interfering with the brilliant light on the flowers.

April 19
.
I'm not fond of car trips, but they do afford some excellent opportunities to look at unobstructed sky....
More color on the trees every day.
A closer look.
Back to the sky........
Back home. Walking.
This is one of the little new street trees that arrived in the neighborhood a couple of years ago. I think it is some kind of nut tree (if I remember properly what I read on its id tag).
These things don't look nutty. Maybe they are (or were?) flowers? I don't remember seeing them until a day or so before this pic. But maybe they were there all winter. I don't know.
A closeup of its fuzzy little leaves.
