
Of course I went back to the wool socks with the black toe:

As you can see, it's time to decide where the heel should go.....
So, quite naturally, I started this:

I knit them a LOT looser than I know think is probably a good idea for socks, and now my conundrum is this...........
I much prefer the way the colors work when knit looser! Sigh. The following pics show the two sides of the loosely-knit practice sock, and I think they are a LOT more interesting than the tightly-knit toe above.


I'm finding the toe pretty darned boring. Same old same old. Maybe I'm just bored of socks....... Sigh.
I suppose there's no reason I couldn't knit the foot tightly and then loosen way up for the leg.............................................. Hmmmmmm.

I'm thinking I may knit the foot tightly (gotta believe the fabric will last longer.... not to mention no one can see it anyway), and then loosen up by at least one needle size for the leg.............. :-)
