victorious

Once upon a time, the kid took a ceramics class. Another kid in the class incessantly described his progress, aloud to all, in glowing terms: "I am victorious! I have made a pot!" "I am victorious again! I have made another pot!" While everyone was happy for him, it was wished in some quarters that he could celebrate a bit more quietly.

We have added his hyperbole to our family vocabulary, to indicate success at a minor quest. If you go to the grocery for dog chow and a gallon of milk, and find both on the shelves, you have been victorious.

I present you with my victory over the ribbing *and* casting off of the second woolsock, and thus my third entire pair of socks since the Olympics began.

I remember that kid..... haha it's funny now but I really hated him at the time.....
