horse, primping

This one was out in the aisle, primping for a turn in the show ring. I was concentrating on the horses, rather than on the people with the horses, but the fact that people are standing on stepladders to work on these guys is part of the story and I should have gotten at least one pic that showed the steps! You can tell from the size of the stylist relative to the size of the horse that this is one large critter.

In the first pic, I think all the teal makes sense. In the second, with the color only in the ropes, I thought it was distracting, so I desaturated it and left the whole image more monochromatic to emphasize the horse. I often work my images over to remove distractions. I know what I want to focus on. When other things are pulling my attention away from that focus, I will crop them out, photoshop them out, or at least tone them down.....

Welcome, and thanks for the lovely compliment!

This horse had such a calm and interested air. Many of them seemed sleepy/bored/indifferent, but this one was alert and seemed quite content to be combed (I presume in preparation for being braided and embellished).
