These asters volunteer in my back yard. I'm glad, and so are the bees.
Bees carry pollen on their legs. Most of these bees had so much they could hardly buzz to the next flower. You can see the yellow bulge of pollen underneath the middle of the bee in the second pic.
I don't know how asters can manage to make seed before they die, starting now, but I'm glad they're working on it.
