shootin' 'shrooms

So -- we used to have a woodpile in the back yard. But we don't use our fireplace (I have issues with creating that much pollution), so the wood sat there and rotted, and eventually we removed it.

Apparently it left fertle ground for mushrooms.

I have read too many stories of dogs sickened by eating mushrooms, so I pick them and throw them away. I don't know if any of these are especially bad, so I get rid of as many of them as I can (picking all those teeny ones is a job!).

These big white ones look a lot like what I've seen about amanitas (which are really really poison). Let's hope that's not what they are. Were, that is to say, they are no longer there.
