Back to our examination of the residents of my office windowsill.
Look, even my office poinsettia is blooming. See its teeny yellow petals?
This shot was taken with my new camera, on the macro setting. Woohoooo! So crisp! I never saw that droplet until I saw this image on the computer screen.....
One expects a decent poinsettia to still have its colored bracts, in March. One is sometimes disappointed, but this plant is soldiering on quite happily.
At this time of year, when everything outside has been monochromatic for months, a hot pink poinsettia is a lovesome thing. To have the amaryllis and the pelargonium at the same time is an embarassment of riches.

A mixed blessing.
I hate mud season........
All in all, I'll take that nice clean snow we had last week......
I like nice clean snow too. But I also like raking back a pile of wet stinky leaf mulch to discover that the bulbs are already sending fat little sprouts out to look for the sun. And, later, I like big showy flowers, and standing in the garden eating cherry tomatoes, and later than that, dry, frowsy seed heads, and then brilliant red and orange and yellow and purples leaves, and, later on, nice clean snow, and then....
