Playing with my new toy. Can you tell where I am?
If you look at what's different, between the second and third images, ignoring any cars......
Interesting how "the way things are done" changes with the times. Now that we can't meet our arriving family members at the gate, and now that we can't wait near the door from baggage claim, and now that we have phones in the car, "cell phone lots" are sprouting up around airports everywhere.
There is no "lot" at Detroit Metro, but the very wide shoulder of the road leading to the terminal is now designated as parking for people who are waiting for the call saying their party is ready for pick up. The tunnel you see ahead is under the runway/taxiway. The terminal and parking deck are beyond the tunnel.
I am amazed that these shots came out so well!!!! This new camera surely knows a lot more about taking pics than I do! It was dead dark when I got to the airport. My expectation that I would get anything other than a bright blob of tunnel-light was very low.
And yet.
The camera was on its "normal whatever" setting. I propped my hands on the top of the steering wheel, and thought -- "Let's see what happens...." I'm astonished that the car in front of me is so sharp.
I'm way too cheap to be this experimental at 50 or 75 cents a shot. Being able to take a million pics "for free" is enabling me to get so many more good ones.....
Toys are Good.

I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that I recognized where you were immediately.
That is the first time I've ever been there in the dark, I think.... And it's the first time I've parked there.
