amaryllis update

Remember this? I know you have been on the edge of your seat, hoping eagerly for a report on developments.




























Here it is, one week after the previous.

Yet another week. On April 24.

I was surprised and disappointed that those fat round lobes yielded such flat papery seeds. I wanted something much more like dried peas! It's hard to imagine these are fertile ... they are really flat.

I guess I'll go googling for info about germinating amarylis and see what I get....

This plant did not make any leaves while it still had the flower stalk. I removed the stalk after the last pics above, hoping that would encourage it to give up on reproduction and concentrate on survival.........

It worked. It has three leaves now (not very many, but maybe it will pull through)........
