Pretty much everything around the garage was destroyed by the work we had done last fall, but a few of these ferns are bravely coming up. I'm not sure how long they will last -- they are not protected by other vegetation, and the dogs tend to run right through them.......
This is the first time I've looked closely at a fern as it uncurls.........
I had no idea until I saw these images "on the big screen" that the ferns were dirty! I'd have rinsed them off and then taken the pics, had I known...........
Isn't it cool how complete they are, before they even begin to unfurl?
