my front yard

Very little of note in my front yard. I love myrtle......

I also love these little species tulips. They just keep going and going and going......

Anything that wants to be fussed over is going to die on my watch. Thank goodness for plants that keep going without my help.

Doesn't the blue/purple of the myrtle look great with the yellow?

Sadly, your myrtle (AKA vinca or periwinkle) is very invasive, and should only be planted in controllable areas. Same with English ivy. One particular problem with these plants is that they do well in sun or shade, and so the same characteristic that makes them good useful for landscaping also allows them to take over forested areas. So many dilemmas.

At least it doesn't *climb*, as English ivy does.....

I didn't plant the myrtle; it was here when I bought the house.

I hope its spreading is mostly via roots (unlike, say, loosestrife, whose seeds get into waterways and spread, spread, spread new plants everywhere). If so, the woods are safe.
