vincristine

We went back to Lansing yesterday, and he had another dose of vincristine.

Last week no gastrointestinal symptoms, but this week I believe I'm seeing the neurological effects, inclucing "neurological constipation," they mention as one of the side effects from vincristine (apparently one in three people who take it have this problem).

I've got a call in to the oncologist...........................

People tell you to enjoy every minute you still have with your dog as you face all of this -- I'm finding it hard to balance that sort of "be in the moment" thing with the constant vigilance required to decide if *this* symptom merits a quick trip to the vet, or if *that* combination of things means it's best to stop poisoning him and let nature take its course............

And of course "enjoying the moment" is not all that do-able when he feels crummy.....
