The sky is big, in Alaska.
I wondered, in Fairbanks, why the sky was so much bigger than in Ann Arbor. I decided it was because of the trees. Fairbanks buildings are mostly two or three stories, just like in Ann Arbor, but you can see so much more sky in Fairbanks.....
In Fairbanks, the trees max out at about two stories tall. In Ann Arbor, lots of our trees are much taller. I love our trees, and I love our big trees, but they do cut down on the amount of sky you can see.
In much of Alaska, trees cannot block your view of the sky.
Being able to see more clouds beyond the nearest clouds, or beyond distant mountains, makes me feel expansive. Makes me feel like I can *breathe*.

What beautiful pictures - you must have had a great trip! Glad Buzz is responding to treatment - but sorry it's being so hard on him. T.
Thanks. It was a wonderful trip. I'm so glad I had the chance to go.
Thanks for the kind words about my Buzz. It's so hard to know if you're doing the right thing, when they are droopy and have to be talked into eating.......
