This was Halloween -- it was a gorgeous day!

The Burton Bell Tower (which has a carillon in the upper stories) is an iconic University of Michigan landmark.

The Frieze Building started life as Ann Arbor High School. When Pioneer was built, in the 1950s, the school district sold the old high school building to the university. Many classes were held there, over the years, and many theatrical performances were enjoyed in its two theaters. It was sadly out of code, as happens with older buildings. The university decided to tear it down (intending to put a very fancy new dorm in its place).
Here is where it was......

Ann Arbor has long been known as Tree Town. This is east Washington, looking west from Division.
