Last year, on our first visit to Charlotte, it seemed like a pretty big place. Ann Arbor has a couple of buildings in the 20-story range, but most downtown buildings here are three or four stories.
This year, I came straight from NYC to Charlotte, and Charlotte seemed much smaller than it seemed last year.
Charlotte is definitely a city on the move. Lots of construction everywhere. According to one of the Charlotte books in the hotel room, a primary industry is finance.....
At first I thought the pink you see here was insulation, but I do believe it is glass.....

Again my story-telling planning was nil..... Charlotte has a lot of public art. Here are the only pics I took -- these enormous ... cookies? ... were beside the brand-spanking new light-rail line. (Which goes "woo-wooo!" at stops, just like a big train. :-) )
I suppose I could google the cookies, but I sort of enjoy the mystery............

Charlotte certainly showed us some gorgeous weather! It was much colder last year....

Hugging your kid is good, no matter what the weather............

In order to facilitate chronological traverse of these Charlotte posts, a link to the next one is here.
