Yesterday was a strange day, weather-wise. It was overcast, but not threatening.
A winter event was predicted, so I went out for staples: cheerios, milk, tp. The things that, when you need them, you NEED them.
I had the minivan, and I had enough stuff to bring into the house that I parked in the garage. I had some lunch, and went out to move the van across the street. The dogs were seriously offended that I left, *again*, without them, so when I came back in, I decided we should go around the block.
It was snowing. I called my DH (who works 17 miles from home) and told him to come home.
Our walk around the block was one of those circumnavigations where the wind inexplicably blows in your face the whole way. Blowing snow in my face -- not my favorite.
The boys were covered in snow when we got home. There was measurable snow, and the minivan was covered. It was snowing right down.
I called DH again, and said "really, leave now." He was on his way.
It took him nearly two hours to get home. It wasn't too bad until he was pretty close to home, right in Ann Arbor. He sat for 25 minutes in one spot. Gridlock.....
But he got home safe and sound.
It continued snowing for hours, but not as hard as it had during the daylight.
I've lived my whole life in this climate, and I still find it amazing that the landscape can change so utterly, from gray and brown and more gray and more brown to this glittering whiteness, in just a few hours.....

Ugh. Snow.
It was cold here this morning (low 20's) but it's SPRING!! I think I'll go out and murder some blackberries now that I'm home.
I would vastly rather have snow than mud......... :-)
I'd rather shovel than mow, too. :-)
