snowlight

When there is snow on the ground, and there are snow clouds in the sky, the city lights bounce back and forth between them. It can be very light outside, even when it is full darkness.

The light is very interesting -- sourceless (no shadows), and very soft.

This pic was taken after 10:00 pm last night, 42° 16', North latitude. Snowlight only -- no porch lights, no light from inside the house. (click on the pic to see the bigger version -- it shows up better)

Buzz patiently waited out there for me to take a dozen pics, hoping for a decent one.

It was still snowing while he waited.

Here he is this morning.

You can see his shaved belly (and that the closer side was shaved higher up than his farther side!).
