Last Thursdsay, the 10th. A very wet trip.
As you see, I am still in my watercolor filter phase. I don't like taking pics of cars or roads or bridges, generally speaking. The mundane human stuff we depend on daily just doesn't ring my chimes. Come to think of it, I feel the same way about taking pics of people. Unless they are my friends or family, I don't like to take pics of them.
For some reason, slapping a watercolor filter on these ordinary scenes makes the resulting images more interesting to me. Perhaps the degree of abstraction is what does it....... Turns the image into a representation of the concept of cars (roads/bridges/people), rather than identifiable individual cars (roads/bridges/persons)? Could be that's why I like these better, once filtered.
Behind the hotel. Chicagoland has been getting a lot of precipitation.....
The hotel is connected by gerbil tube to the convention center. That tube is a Good Thing, when the weather is cold and wet. No need to bother with a coat.....
In order to facilitate chronological traverse of these Chicago posts, a link to the next one is here.
