walking to work, May 14

Crabapple. This blue door is so nice with the brick that we forgive her for not matching her flowering tree.

This Japanese maple put out leaves first, flowers second, in contrast with my backyard maple we've been following.

Color exactly as the camera (and I) remember it.

Dogwood.

Rhododendron or azalea.

Bleeding heart.

Last year not one pic I took of of a bleeding heart was sharp, so I'm glad to have gotten this one. This shape reminds me of the way lots of girls wore their hair in the second half of the 60s........... It looks better on a flower. Especially in hot pink.

A couple of really big tulips. These may be the biggest tulips I've ever seen. Petals nearly as long as my hand (wrist to fingertips), I think.

Small plants in rock garden, with petal snow.

Pansies.

This one is unknown to me. Francoise? Anyone?
