Can you believe I thought I hadn't taken very many pics last week? Or maybe I'm just lousy at triage............
Ok.
Remember that fallen tree I showed you, from my way to work on the 3rd? Here is the aftermath.
Squished porch roof, droopy wire.....

What's left of the tree......

I'm not sure what kind of tree this was ('twas the lines of the bare branches that caught my eye, and I didn't think to try to id the tree), but it may be a black walnut. Walnuts have compound leaves like this.....

This one is a black walnut. Isn't it interesting that the outermost bark is pretty smooth, while the bark in the cracks is more textured?

This branch is from a walnut tree. You can see some incipient walnuts on the sidewalk.

Daisy. This may be the sharpest daisy center I've ever gotten.

What caught my eye here was the height of the trees. This is why you rarely get a glimpse of big sky in Ann Arbor. The horizon is obscured by trees.....

Hosta, leaning over the retaining wall toward the sun.

This made me smile. These people have vegetables in their front yard, including tomatoes. Here is a volunteer. The tallest plant on the left, valiantly growing out of the crack between sidewalk squares, is a tomato.

Daylilies in the sunshine.

Another plant I can't identify. Gotta love the color.....

Note bumblebee headed for flower in lower left.
