Gotta love grass, in its incredible variety.....
People have taken advantage of grass's variability, and have bent it to diverse purposes.
Have you ever looked at a golf green, up close and personal? I was right at the edge of the green -- note that the grass is longer on the left, and *really* short on the right.
Of course it takes more than grass to make an interesting golf course. Nature's curves and plantings are a part of the design. Then humans add their own fiendish touches....
I'm told that most courses are not as lovely as this one.
See the little bird, near the bottom, near the right? I hadn't thought, before, about how a golf course might provide habitat for so many creatures, large and small.
What a pleasant place to be, eh?
Your faithful recorder, with her guide and chauffeur. Wondering why the shadows aren't all going the same direction......... A twilight zone moment?
(My DH points out that it has to be distortion introduced by the camera. Oh. Yeah. Right.)
One last pastorally gorgeous view. You can see a wheat field in the distance, the green of a manicured part of the golf course a bit closer, and yet more grasses in the foreground (at least I think these nearer ones are grasses!).

The golf courses in MI may very likely be the most beautiful in the US.
I'm not a golfer, but driving through MI, and driving through OR, you can tell Michiganders take beauty in golf MUCH more seriously!
Interesting. I wonder why that is......
Likely weather. Here, it's RAINY most the year. There, you can golf a lot more :)
We don't have all the indoor golf course they have there though, which I found odd! You'd think we'd have more here!
