still walking home, July 10

.

I love my black jeans. Sometimes I think "Why not wheat-colored jeans?" and the next minute I notice that I'm dripping the salsa from my burrito on my leg. On my black jeans, dampness. On wheat-colored jeans, disaster.

I love my black jeans.

But they are hot when the sun shines on them......................

Here's someone with another plan. Much more lively and interesting. I'm sure her legs are cooler than mine, and of course we love the hot pink.

But when her burrito drips on her pants..........

And my feet hurt just looking at her shoes.

Urban ivy. I must have had the macro focus on -- the depth of field is really shallow. See how the staples and telephone pole are nice and crisp, while the ivy is blurry?

What happens if we watercolor it? That sort of blurs the nice sharpness of the staples, but it also obfuscates the blurriness of the leaves.....

This is the foxglove we've been looking at -- the one with the maroon Japanese maple behind it. It didn't waste any time setting seed. I love these pods. The shape, the curves of the dried pistils, the cracks, letting us imagine the insides..... This is another plant with an Audrey look to it.....

Like the bokeh (that Japanese maple again)!

The linden trees are also setting seed.....

More seed -- for sale at Downtown Home and Garden. I like the repeated shapes of the shiny cans, and of the brown paper bags in the background.

Front entry to Downtown Home and Garden. Love the rug. You can see bread for sale behind the shiny glass, and I like that we can see light coming right through the building from the back door.

Daylily, and mint. A little purple is always nice with orange.

Green vanishing perspective, with orange.

Study in greens.

Another study in greens.

Looks like we are both drawn to the same shapes and colours in the garden! I do love coneflowers too!

I need orange said...

All those spirals going out from the center, all those spikey things in the center, the differences in the petals........ I love the pink-petaled ones with the orange middles, and the white ones with the green......
