still walking to work, June 26

.

Yucca, close up.

Yucca.

South entrance to West Park. Watercolor filter.

Asiatic lily.

Bell with bug. Wondering if the lower flowers are a big older -- look at the curls (I presume the end of the pistil). You don't see those in the slightly higher flowers, like the one with the bug.

Rather surprised at how sharp the bug is. Photographically speaking.

Whole plant of above.

The parking lot bounded by Ashley, Washington, First Street, Huron really is quite nicely landscaped and planted. I hadn't appreciated it adequately until this year. The next many pics (through the serviceberries) are all aspects of this parking lot's embellishment.

Rock, with grass(?).

Spirea -- doesn't this make a nice moo card?

Another rock with grass(?).

Lily. What a lot of excellent yellow on only one plant!

Pleased with how much detail the little camera captured. Click on it to see a bigger version, if you like -- quite amazing detail along the edges of the anthers.

Hollyhock, in situ.

A look toward Huron, along the Ashley end of the parking lot. That shrubby thing, above/behind the purple stuff is one of the serviceberries.

Speaking of serviceberries, they were at their prime on the 26th. I had some from each of the bushes along Ashley. Interestingly two of them had much nicer berries than the rest.

Gorgeous, eh?

And yummy.

Ok, walking on, leaving the parking lot (and the serviceberries) behind.

Not too long ago we saw a dachshund in this bed. Today, a rubber duck.

I don't know what is actually done in here, but I'm tempted to go in and find out.

Cleome. Wasn't it thoughtful of them to paint the block that nice yellow behind the PINK, for our delectation? Nice leaves, too.
