translucence

.

You'll recall that Wilbur's ears have less cartilage than a corgi's, but more than a beagle's. One folds over like a beagle's, when he is right-side up, and the other sticks out sideways at a jaunty angle.

When he is not right-side up, all bets are off.

Here he is, in his beloved sunshine, with the light coming through his ear. It has enough oomph to stay straight at this angle, but not when he is upright.

What a cute pooch.

Thanks. He brims with character and charm, and has the best sense of humor of any dog we've ever had.

Love the look you're getting...

He has more personality than any other dog we've had. And more sense of humor. :-)

He never lifts his head when he's lying down and you look at him, so it's very easy to get these "white of the eye" shots.

I don't know if he actually means anything by "the look," or if the look is just a consequence of his declining to raise his head, so he has to roll his eye to see you.
