The excellent things we saw at the museum and the golf course took precedence over an ordinary walk home. We'll catch up now with July 10.
This gingko tree is right in front of my office building. This image was taken through the stairwell window.
Orange. Mmmmmm.
This next shot doesn't appeal to me as much as the one above, but I wanted to show you the nice curly petals.
The closer I look at this flower, the more I like it.
I'm not usually too fond of these dark red daylilies, but I am liking this closeup. This color is exactly as the camera remembers it.
A common daylily. Not sure why the light was so funny, but I took a bunch of shots of this one against the telephone pole, and all of them had strange illumination. The telephone pole was fine, but the flowers were washed out.
I've increased darkness in "levels" and also increased the saturation considerably.
Neither the camera nor I remember this one this way, but I like it better than what the camera caught for me. (Kinda liking the blue staples!)
Here's that nice golden rain tree again.
The flowers don't strike me as being all that "rainy" on the tree. They seem more fireworksy than rainy to me.
I bet this is why it's called "golden rain".....
Here's a closeup of one of last year's interesting seed pods.
This is a little hedgey sort of plant. Isn't it interesting how the leaves begin in this overlapping curved way? This also reminds me of Audrey, only without the lipstick we saw on that peony several weeks ago......
I am not tired of coneflowers. Look how the ends of the petals are divided, on the white one.
