walking home, June 25

.

Given the size of the persimmon fruit, I figured the flowers would probably be visible, even up in the big tree.

This was a time I wished I had the 12x zoom camera instead of the measly 6x.

Lots of unrequited flowers on the pavement under the tree....

Still loving me my linden trees.

We will now pause for a moment of silence to mourn the Y.

Sigh.

Ok. Shaking it off. Walking on.

The foxglove-in-front-of-Japanese-maple I showed you before.

Milkweed. Not sure why this is a "weed" rather than a "desirable garden flower." The flowers are very cool, and are profuse. The habit isn't terribly weedy. Very attractive to bees. And with excellent dried seedpods at the end of the season....

I was thinking these were crabapples, but crabapples don't usually get this far along this early in the season, and there is something about the translucence that makes me think these are cherries.

Wow color, eh?

I did watercolor this. The image wasn't singing to me, so I messed with it.... Still don't love it, but I think it's better than it was before I filtered it.
