Thanks! This is a tiny taste of what's available. I didn't shoot any of the non-produce vendors. Soap makers, nurseries, bakers, artists, etc........

Those cherries look heavenly! I wash I lived where those grew well. We have lovely blackberries and peaches at our market this time of year, but no cherries!

The basil/tomato combo made my mouth water. I love them together. Looks like a fun Farmer's Market

I'm not sure if the cherries are local. Our market is supposed to be "local," but I think it is somewhat loosely defined.

Michigan does grow a huge number of cherries. We are one of the largest cherry producers, if not the largest. The climate along the east coast of Lake Michigan (four or five hours from here, by car) is apparently about perfect for cherries....

I read, the other day, that there are hundreds (thousands?) of cherry varieties under cultivation.

I was surprised.

Not sure if this pic shows three different kinds, or four.....

We like the dark dark red ones for fresh eating, and the lighter red sour ones for baking. My daughter made a lovely clafoutis with sour cherries, last week.....

The Ann Arbor market is a very large and old market. We are lucky to have such a good one.

Thanks for visiting!
