walking home, August 6

.

Ailanthus.

I thought these were blooming, but no. I discovered by looking closely at the pics that this nice pink is actually the seed pods.

(Digression -- I surely see more of what I'm looking at, thanks to photography! I look more closely [enabled by the macro setting to see things I couldn't see with the naked eye], and I notice more, thinking of taking pics, than I would without the camera.... -- end of digression.)

I was speculating about the tree outside my office window. I think it must be a walnut. Here is a walnut right by an ailanthus, and you can see how different it is. The walnut is darker green, with bigger leaves (and no pink seed pods!).

Some downtown color. Sam's.

I wish I could buy shoes for color, rather than for comfort!

Would I buy orange? Or chartreuse? Or a pair of each, and wear one color on each foot?

Even tiny feet, even so-tiny-they-are-not-walking feet, are covered, at Sam's.

Love these "performance art" telephone poles. Layers upon layers of posters, staples, posters burnt off, more posters, more staples..... Excellent textures.....

The 7th was another gorgeous day. We have been SO lucky this summer. So many beautiful days!

Seems like lightness of foot would naturally follow, doesn't it?

I love the telephone poles. The texture, with all those staples.....
