rock collection

.

When I think of a rock collection, I think like this. (These are sitting on a piece of letter-size paper, and you can't see the edges of the paper, so you can extrapolate the sizes of these pebbles.)

Other people think large. The people in this excellent house are art collectors. And rock collectors. Serious rocks. Very Large rocks.

This is the one you see below the window, above. The white zigzags stick right out.

This is not wet. It is shiny.

Doesn't this make you think of cuneiform?

From cuneiform to Mother Nature's version of the Venus of Willendorf.

From a distance, this one looks like a convention of moths.

Curls and straight lines; layers and layers...... Isn't it interesting that some layers are so pale, next to some that are so dark? Wonder what was being laid down.....

We are not the only ones enjoying these rocks.

I like the "rock" collection pics and how you translate your theme to fit so many images so well!

I have about three coneflower blooms left in the garden, hard to think about fall all over again!

This is great!
I have a covetous streak that sooooo wants that big rock collection!!!
Mine looks a bit more like the one on the paper in the first photo.

Must be the home of a geologist...

I actually know who lives in that house. The lady of the house used to work for the part of the U I work for, and the couple are friends of friends. They own a bell-works, so are artists and business people.

I don't know if they are amateur geologists, or if they just love rocks. I just love rocks, and am satisfied with little ones.... :-)

Though that one boulder.... The gray one with the white bits sticking out............

:-)
