One more thought is -- Golden Delicious apples from our farmers' market at this time of year are very nice indeed. Crisp. Tart. Yum. From the grocery store ... not so nice.
So I was a bit surprised that the local Red Delicious we tried on the 29th wasn't much better than a grocery store one.
I wonder -- is it that local conditions favor the Golden but not the Red? Or? Who knows.
The other thought, which I meant to append to the previous post, is -- food blogging is a lot of work. A lot. First you have to *do* something, and then all the description and finding links and all.........
