Crows gather to spend the night. It's not unusual to see hundreds of them converging on several tall trees in the same small area.
This is the first time I've seen them roost in the trees right outside my office window.
They definitely prefer the tiniest twigs of the tallest trees. They look so big, for those tiny twigs, but the twigs did not deflect as much as I thought they would, with those big birds landing on them.
Be sure to notice, in the background of the video, how many crows there are in the distance.....
My little camera doesn't record sound. I could hear them, cawing, but it wasn't as loud as I would have expected.
How cool, to get to see them, up close and personal.
But not toooo close, like inside your house............ I find I am having a weird reaction every time I see a squirrel. Wonder how long it will take to get over that!

The crows and ravens are 'gathering' here, too. It's always one or two days a year around this time, they all gather up, like a family reunion.
The picture of the individual crow, next to last pic, is a classic!
It seems like they do it every night, here, just in a different place each day.
(Woe betide whoever lives underneath.....)
I felt very lucky that they posed so nicely right outside my office window. I liked that series of the one individual. S/He was the only crow in that tree when I took the pics, though there were dozens in that other (taller) tree very near by.
I like how the tail feathers are obviously in motion when it was caawing. And I like the classic silhouettes.
