No rest for the weary -- time off from work means more time to work on the basement, right?
Some stuff is easy to pitch. Old moldy unused greeting cards, say.
Some stuff is harder -- "perfectly good" towels that are so musty that it would take work to get them clean enough to be usable.
Some stuff is harder in other ways -- something you cared about at one point, that now is so old it's worthless (linoleum block, carved for prints, anyone? bent, and so stiff..... and really, would I ever use it again? unlikely. very unlikely.....).
Sigh.
I filled up three bags of "recyclable fiber" the other day, and sorted stuff out of several more boxes today. Garbage, recyclables, stuff that's fit to be donated to the thrift store.....
Ick.
But we are starting to see mostly-empty shelves, and bare floor...........
Of course it was pouring down rain on Friday when we'd have put recyclables out.
Alas. The garage is filling up.....
A stack of revolting moldy and spider-egged boxes.
Latex paint waiting to be spread on kitty liter, dried, and sent out in the garbage.
Recyclable paper. Some of it could have been useful, once, but now, so musty.... Disgusting. Get it gone.
More recyclable paper. Pounds and pounds of pages I saved from magazines. Good bye.
Recyclable containers. Inherited (from an ex-roommate) wine. Probably never was any good, and wasn't properly stored (corks chowdered when the attempt was made to remove them)....
Feh.
Ick.
Sigh.
Surely hope we can put out recyclables this week!
