Our Charlotte motel's road turns into a road that goes very near the airport.
Oooh. None o' this in A2. Everything here is brown. Or gray. Yawn.
This was just outside the rental-car place at the airport.
None o' this, neither.
I am usually just fine with it staying winter as long as possible. But seeing all the green and flowers on these two trips has pushed me right into the "bored with monochromaticity" stage................
A good thing there are always lots of flowers at the grocery store.
Charlotte's airport, like Orlando's, has a lot of art. I am liking this nice piece along the slidewalk. It is mostly painting, but there is texture under the paint in places......
More ceramics. Contemporary ones.
Main concourse.
You can see this in the prev, on the right, quite a ways down....
Another long piece beside a slidewalk.
I quite like this person's work. I like the painting, and I like the collagey additions.
Are you asking yourself why I had so much time to take pics of art at the airport?
Unfortunately, our plane was 5.5 hours late leaving the airport.
It arrived on time, but then someone discovered it was leaking. From "one of the lavatories." Leaking into its belly, where the leakage froze in the cold upper atmosphere.
In order to *fix* it, they would have to take the plane apart, so we had to wait until it thawed. And quit dripping.
It was 20 degrees cooler than the previous two days. Still very nice, by Michigan February standards, but not all that conducive to quick thawing of miscellaneous liquids in the belly of an airplane.
As time went by, they sent more and more passengers to other planes and even other airlines. Eventually all of the people who had had connections out of Detroit (a major Northwest hub) were gone, leaving only those of us who would drive home from Detroit.
Finally they decided it was ok to go.
What a sky!
Wow.
Luckily our dog-sitter was able to go give the boys their supper and let them out. We had expected to be home well before 6:00 pm, but it was more like 9:30 when we finally got there.
We are so glad our kid has nice dependable friends who are willing to dog-sit!
