oops....

It was clear, hot, and windy this morning.

Perfect laundry weather. We hung out two loads before we went to the thrift store.

We came home, checked some email, and decided to go to the library.

Hmmm.

This is looking rather ... unpromising.





My better half took the books into the library, and I stayed outside to take pics. The previous shot and this next one are looking straight west.

We decided the better part of valor would be to go home and try to rescue the laundry (not to mention get the computer turned off before it got fried).

It looked worst to the north, so we were hoping that maybe it would blow over and not soak us. (Looking north in this shot.)





No such luck. It rained as hard as I've ever seen it rain. For about five minutes. Starting about four minutes before we got home. Naturally I had to change a camera chip Right Then, so I didn't even get to try to take pics of the hardest of the rain.

It was clear there was no point in taking down the laundry then. I was dropped to go turn off the computer, and he went to get bagels and bread (as we had planned to do after the library).

Sigh.

If we had taken the laundry down before we'd left for the library it would be drier than it is now, many hours later............. We are under a severe thunderstorm watch, and I'm going to go get it before it rains again, at least............
