shopping -- glasses

.

Wow. Talk about no-fun ways to spend $1000......................

Buying glasses is a lot like buying bras. When you try them on, the tags are in unfortunate places; most of the choices have a lot of frou-frou stuff I don't want (can you say "rhinestones"?); and worst of all, you pay a huge (HUGE) price for the amount of material involved to make them!

Today my better half and I went and chose some new frames.

Sigh.

Both of us ended up with some that are quite similar to what we currently have.

Not a very exciting purchase, for that kind of money.

One way buying glasses is different from buying bras -- an unfortunate choice won't give me a backache!

(For those of you who may live in A2 and work at the U, the Kellogg eye center definitely has a much bigger selection than health service -- we went both places today. Even after you leave out the rhinestones, Kellogg has a bigger selection.)
