June 4, lunchtime

.

Walking down the hill for a salad from Back Alley Gourmet.

I don't believe I've ever seen black flowers before.

I suppose these iris are really (REALLY) dark purple, but in the noon sun they surely looked black.

Interesting as a curiosity, but I would never purchase these instead of, say, purple stripes.

Or pale orange.

Or pale purple.

Or even purple and palest gold, which would not be my first choice.

Here's the next thing that caught my eye. Yellow.

Then we noticed that there were many pairs of shoes on the wires just here. Working on a dozen.

They all seemed to be in good condition (not worn out), so we wondered why they were hanging from the wires.........

With a dozen pairs of dangling shoes visible, including the ones right outside my window.

O goodie.

After enjoying our salads, we headed back up the hill.

Panda stencil. I suppose this is still vandalism, but I think it is pretty.

Pinks. Same colors as pandas.

Yet more iris. LOTS of iris this year. I wonder if everyone went out last year and added more and more iris to their collections.....

Rose.

Sedum? Love this hot-color starburst thing going on.

Love its foliage, too.

Geranium.
